Ensoniq ESQ-1 OS 3.5 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT This upgrade version 3.5 is the latest and final firmware update issued by Ensoniq for the ESQ-1. Included will be 2 new ATMEL ROM chips, recently manufactured to ensure data integrity well past our natural lifetime. I do not use 35+ year old UV EPROMS that are prone to bit rot. Keep in mind that the ESQ-1 itself is not for sale, only the EPROM upgrade chips are. Also, if you are looking for the "Hidden Waves" version of this update, send me a message and I can help you out. Unlike some others, No used or refurbished as “new” components will be supplied here. Some of the changes and improvements included in update 3.5 are as follows: Added sequence editing features, which allows addition and deletion of variable bars at any boundary within a sequence. Ability to rename songs by pressing the soft button above the song name on the SONG EDIT page. Allowed startup screen to automatically switch to last selected internal page. VELOCITY parameter renamed to TOUCH. Ability to remain in SONG mode even after unit was turned off. Corrected a sequencer problem, which prevented the ESQ-l from recording correctly when synchronized (SYNC-MIDI CLOCK) with units, which send clocks continuously. Corrected waveform pointer in EPN02 waveform. Restored the values of the TOUCH parameters to their original and correct order (HARD, MED, SOFT). If requested - A link will be e-mailed to you with the ESQ-1 service manual for your own personal reference. I find this to be quite useful and informative. Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board. All EPROM upgrades have been prepared in an ESD-safe production environment and will be packaged in equally ESD-safe materials.
