Vintage Microphone

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very unique and rarer 1950's era Shure Brothers 410 model "Hercules" controlled reluctance microphone which was sold as a General Electric CR88B variant. The two mics are exactly the same but G.E sold this under license and it comes with the short cable and period / original Shure S-36 model desk stand in which to display. This mic no longer has the internal dynamic element and should be used for display, repair or prop purposes only. This G.E CR88B has it's original silver / blue paint scheme and G.E logo. This all metal construction mic has a bit of weight to it. Again, the original Shure element is no longer present but a C.M or C.R element can always be installed. There are no cracks or fractures anywhere on the microphone. The all metal body has very lite wear. Just a few lite scratches and scuff marks. Exceptional for a 70 + year old mic. The original burgundy colored cloth screen looks very nice with zero rips, holes or discoloration. The mic itself is appx 3 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches wide. The G.E logo looks pretty nice. This mic was designed to sit on it own or attach to any desk or floor stand. This microphone has an original 20 inch cable a period Cannon female XLR end connector which is correctly wired. The cable is soft, pliable and free of damage. The CR88B mic is an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. The microphone stand is included and it's an original Shure S-36 model with the same paint scheme. It's made of aluminum and has the stock 5 inch riser. This S-36 is a very stable platform for the G.E mic and compliments it nicely. There is just lite wear on the painted finish but the base is free of any fractures or dents. The riser shows heavier wear than the base. Mic with stand is appx 10 inches tall X 5 inches wide X 7 inches deep. The stand has the original push to talk mechanism that is still wired correctly. It has the 5 pads on the bottom and cable clamp as well. This will make a nice display piece anywhere it sits in the house, studio or office. And as always...
