The AM10 is a modern design by Gary Barnett of the vintage Quad Eight AM10 discrete OpAmp in the API 2520 footprint. It can be used in circuits that use a 2520 type OpAmp to change the tone to the Quad Eight flavor. Description from CAPI:This DOA is a ten transistor amplifier modeled after the legendary Quad-Eight AM10. Gary has reformatted the layout to match the 2520 footprint. The original AM10 layout was a completely different proprietary footprint.It should be noted that the garAM10 has been rigorously tested on +/-28 V rails with great success. The original AM10 was actually designed to run on +/-28 V rails. So as a bonus, the garAM10 can be used in the GDIY 51x format which utilizes +/-24 V rails.Some of the applications the garAM10 DOA can be used for: Microphone Preamplifiers Line or Booster Amplifiers Lossless Combining Amplifiers Balanced Transformerless Amplifiers Equalizers and CompressorsAdditional features and specs: Industry standard 2520 footprint for plug-in or PC mount connections Low noise, high power output Low distortion Minimum load impedance is 75 ohms for full output voltage Power supply voltage is bi-polar +/- 12 VDC to +/- 28 VDC It should be noted that all 10 transistors are currently in production and easily obtainable Shipping: We ship OpAmps in a USPS flat rate small box. In 2023 thats over $9, but we cap it at that and eat the balance. If you order more than one, its only an extra dollar for shipping each additional OpAmp in the same box (the dollar covers the extra insurance).
