Selling a rare portable classic Tascam DA-P1 professional dat recorder/player. Inactive for sometime and used as back-up unit only. Just recently given a complete overhaul and now working properly ready to integrate any existing digital audio tape-related project. Prior to posting, considerable amount of refurbishing session invested in the process. Including but not limited to: replaced new loading belt, detailed clean, hand buffed, replenished and deoxit some pertinent components and mechanical parts including knobs, dials and switches. Head transport thoroughly cleaned. A day in a life of a DJ, sound engineer and A/V tech for some 3 decades, It's my conviction that any linear "tape" based format, analog or digital is far more superior audio than any non-linear digital media to date. However, I'm not here to argue, but rather express my subjective endorsement and support based on personal experience. Like the analog magnetic tape, Dat is no exception. Dat is pretty much alive and kicking in my studio for personal and professional application. Perhaps it's time to rediscover tape for yourself..it might change your opinion on how to capture your next master recordings. This is no longer in production and becoming a hard commodity and very sought after due to it's high quality result of any studio or live recording project and ease of use that is still relevant in digital culture of today! Like most vintages some superficial imperfections are almost expected but in no way impede normal functionally and will be hard pressed to find one in this state of functional condition.
