PE56

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at an extremely nice 1960's era Shure Brothers PE-56 (Unisphere 1) dynamic cardioid microphone complete with an original Shure mic clip, Shure mic pouch, new exterior pop filter and short mic cable in which to operate. This PE-56 is virtually the same as the PE-56D model introduced a few years later in the 1970's but the main difference being that the PE-56D came with the standard XLR input instead of the 3 pin screw on cable and the PE-56D had an on / off switch which was much more practical. This is the first generation PE-56 which is a bit harder to come by and this one is a real gem. The PE56D was virtually the exact same mic as the Shure 565SD model except that the 565SD series was low impedance and the PE56 & PE56D was factory set at high impedance. This mic was ideal for brass instruments or for people with very deep voices like myself. The PE-56 still has a little bass but not as much as the 565SD version. It's more mid range in tone like the E.V 635A. You can always adjust the sound on an E.Q of course. A very high quality and somewhat harder mic to find these days. Pic # 2 shows the 2nd generation PE-56D. Again, exact same sounding mic with just different accessories. This PE-56 has been cleaned and tested and sounds just like the day it was first manufactured. The signal strength on this old mic is very strong and very clear. No issues! This PE-56 was factory set at high Z. The mic is uni-directional doing an excellent job of eliminating most background noise. As you can see in the pictures provided the satin chrome finish is beautiful with zero scratches, pitting or dents and as nice as they come. The black plastic fitting looks very nice with very lite wear in the form of lite scuff marks. There is no wear on the Shure label that wraps around the barrel of the mic. Mic is solid and a new inner foam liner was installed to help with unwanted feedback from wind or strong breathing. No loose parts and no dents, odors or tarnish on the chrome mesh screen or tarnish. A new exterior foam pop filter is also provided for an extra layer of protection and you'll really be able to lean into the mic. The mic comes with a newer Shure A-25 mic clip that works excellent for it's handle providing great grip and a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. The softer compound of this new mic clip will not scratch the satin chrome handle like some of the older plastic clips. The clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand. It's in excellent shape. The cable is provided and is appx 20 feet long. Soft, pliable and works perfectly. It comes with the quality male Switchcraft 1/4 inch end connector as well. A black vinyl Shure pouch is also provide to keep the mic in when not in actual use. It's in very good overall condition with lite exterior wear. Zipper works great too. A beautiful mic that's an easy 9 + cosmetically on a scale of 1 - 10. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. You have everything you need.
