Offering a vintage and rare working 1960's CALRAD VM-12 Velocity Ribbon Microphone. This is NOT one of those cheaper and smaller Calrad crystal "pill" mics"....this VM-12 model has considerable weight due to its heavy iron ribbon drive. The Japanese were on top of their game with this model, and testing shows it to sound like a professional studio ribbon should. Taking styling cues from the iconic RCA 77, this V-12 model is close to the same size and packs a similar punch sound-wise with a rich audio profile. (You can check out a voice sample on the attached video.) The casing is in nice overall condition, from the top chromed perforated screens, to the beautiful art-deco chromed support yoke...just some mild wear on the bottom front casing. The screen cloth is clean and smoke/stain free as well. This sale comes with an Electro Voice 423A aluminum desk stand, and is hardwired to a short length of cable to male XLR plug. ** If you don't need the stand, we can trade it for free shipping. ** We also offer combined shipping. *** WE BUY YOUR OLD MICROPHONES...INVENTORY UPDATED REGULARLY **** Click on my eBay username for details. (Text or call.) With a life-long career in major market broadcast radio in the imaging/audio production field, I continue to buy, sell, collect and restore vintage microphones, primarily from the 1930's through the 1970's. Have a vintage mic to sell, made a purchase and need follow-up, or just have a general question, we're here to help.
