A wideband UHF active receive antenna with a Log Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA) structure and cardioid polar pattern. The higher attenuation of longer cables can be easily compensated by increasing the gain, while in the case of very short cables and strong received signals, zero or even negative gain ensures that the input dynamic range of the receiver is not exceeded.
