The multi -pattern feature of the FC3 is a must for studio work where you are recording one vocalist in cardiod pattern then need to track two or more singers at once. You can switch to the bi-directional pattern for two singers directly across from each other or omni pattern for a group of three to ten in a circle around the mic and let them blend themselves. Very handy when doing background vocals with several singers who are used to singing live all together. You will also find the omni pattern is flatter in frequency response and gives a more natural sounding finished track. Versatility is a must for a studio engineer.
