SONY PCM-R500 Digital Audio Tape Mostly Working AS IS Read Description. This digital audiotape player does work, but it has a few issues that I found while testing it. First after recording music and then removing the tape and putting it back in sometimes the playback would be a little bit distorted and not great. One time the tape eject would not stay open and kept trying to close. After playing with a little bit, it started working again as designed. Finally, during playback of the tape, I recorded the ERR error begins flashing on the screen even while playback sounds normal. All of this points to the need for the device to be cleaned and possibly serviced. See pictures for details of exact condition.
