Robert Fine was a pioneer producer/engineer who revolutionized live recordings of orchestras and jazz ensembles. He initially created the one mic technique to capture orchestras using a U47 and Ampex gear, then moved into a 3 mic technique using the Ampex 300 I also have, that again changed the way live performances were captured outside the studio.
