You are looking at a classic 1960's / 70'd era Shure Brothers PE-55 model dynamic cardioid microphone with a bright, clear tone. This is a rare variant of The Shure 55S line up. The uni-directional characteristics on these mics are outstanding drowning out almost all background noise.
The 55S series mic was introduced in 1951 and was the smaller version of the 55 "Fatboy" sold during the 1940's. The 55S was sold until the late 1970's until it evolved into the 55SH and was then discontinued.
